Be encouraged today and forgive. Yes, forgive. Not just the person who stepped on your foot by accident, but the person who took advantage of you. The person who violated your trust, the person who publicly disrespected you.
Forgiveness frees us to live. It doesn’t mean we trust people. It means that we’ve chosen to live without that issue or that person’s actions taking a home in our minds.
If this is too hard, because it can be difficult, here’s how to start. Pray about it. This is easier. God, help me to forgive _____________ (person’s name). You can also give God your feelings. God, I give You my thoughts about ____________, help me to see them through Your eyes.
Remember, Christ died so that we may live forgiven lives. We’ve done enough to disappoint, disrespect, and disobey God. It is often said that you can’t give what you don’t have, that means that we are without excuse. We can forgive, because we are forgiven.
I needed this and I pray it has blessed you.
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:32 KJV
