Everyday With Jesus!

Everyday!

“Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before”, was a song we used to sing growing up.  I believe that as we grow closer to God the lyrics of this song become a reality.  Each day becomes sweeter.  I’ve taken the last few weeks to mourn the loss of my Grandfather and now while I am still grieving, I recognize the need to do what I am called to do in God and that’s why I’m back with something new to help us grow in God.

April is here!

April is upon us and as I explained in a post last week, God dropped a jewel in my spirit.  The jewel was a new focus on scriptures for our everyday living.  It is so important to study the word of God on an everyday basis and the bible gives us further instructions for daily living.  This may sound overwhelming, but as we grow in God, we find that His yoke really is easy, as each instruction leads us into a life of peace, even while chaos may be all around us.

Everyday With Jesus!

Together We Can Do It!

I pray that you will take this journey with us during the month of April as we read, study, pray and meditate on these scriptures.  Share your thoughts, questions and testimonies with us.  Let’s do this together.

Stay tuned for the scriptures that we will look at together this month.  Until then, God bless you, God loves you and remember God Wants You Happy!

Success…Check!

Have you succeeded in an area of your life?  Even if it’s a small area, maybe you learned how to budget your earnings, or bake a dish, or run a marathon.  You can cut hair, or paint nails, or hang pictures perfectly.  Maybe you exercise regularly every day or do your best to stay away from soda.

No matter how small it may be, let’s celebrate what you’ve achieved!  It’s time to be happy!  Post/Share your accomplishment in the comments below and celebrate (at the very least, like), someone else’s success while we celebrate yours.

Have you properly evaluated your life or are you looking at everything negative that you can find?

Today is the day to sit, with pen and paper in hand, or your electronic device, and list what you are successful at!

My Good Place…

I’m comfortable. It’s the morning time and my home is quiet, peaceful, a bit serene. I’m sitting in my dining room looking out of my window watching as the wind makes its way through the trees. I’m in my good place, a place where I can be me, free from distractions. My computer is in front of me and I’m typing my first entry on writers.work.

Yes! The excitement of freely writing and expressing myself in a way that I love, in a way that suits me, is my good place. I feel satisfied and I’m embracing this new beginning. Hopefully this feeling will transcend across my blog and my facebook groups today.

I did state that this is a “new” beginning. It all started a month ago when I became free to pursue what I am most passionate about, helping others. For years, I worked a 9-5, that was rewarding until it began to drain me, and I had nothing left to offer anyone else, myself included. You see, I live to encourage and help people find a happier way of life. During the last couple of years while I worked for someone else time did not permit me to cultivate or nurture my passion, my way of life was robbing me of what I wanted for myself and others-a happier life.

I’ll introduce myself. My name is Dona Nesbit-Smith. I am a Child of God, a Wife, a Mother, a Relative and Friend. I am also, a writer, singer, motivational speaker, merchandiser and event planner. I have a blog known as “God Wants Me Happy”, 2 Facebook groups-the first one is Grow a Minute-A-Day-With God and the second one is ShePlants. Writing is one of favorite ways to communicate.

Depression No More

God Wants Me Happy

My blog, “God Wants Me Happy“, is focused on removing the grip of depression and living the life that God wants for us. It’s time to be happy, not that every day will bring blissful happiness, but there’s a way to deal with life’s curveballs without losing ourselves in a downward spiral of depression.

Grow

Grow A Minute-A-Day-With God

Grow A Minute or GAMAD, is a Facebook group I created 3 years ago to help others grow a relationship with God. Each month presents a new focus and every 3 months we go back to basics and learn to read, pray or spend time with God starting at 1 minute a day and grow through the month, i.e., 2 minutes on the 2nd day of the month, 5 minutes on the 5th day of the month, and so on until we’re reading, praying or spending time with God for 30 minutes.

ShePlants

ShePlants is my baby, not yet a year old, ShePlants is a Facebook group for women who love God, themselves and their families. It’s centered on sharing stories and ideas that will help women of all ages, planting and cultivating seeds to produce greater works in other women.
